Stellantis, one of the automotive giants, demonstrated a remarkable performance in the European market in the first half of 2025. The company emerged as the manufacturer with the highest increase in hybrid vehicle sales and rose to segment leadership.
Stellantis Leads in Hybrid Vehicles
Stellantis closed the first six months of the year with a 17 percent share of the European automobile market. With over 1.3 million vehicles sold, the company became the region’s second-largest automotive manufacturer. Hybrid vehicle sales increased by 4.2 percent during this period, placing the company at the top of this segment.
Despite a 13 percent contraction in the light commercial vehicle market, Stellantis maintained its leadership. With a 1.4 percent increase, the company’s market share reached nearly 30 percent.
Stellent’s success is particularly evident in certain European countries. In France, it holds the leading position in the general and electric vehicle segments with a nearly 30 percent market share. Peugeot stands out in the overall market with a 15.6 percent share, with three Peugeot models in the top 10 best-selling models: the 208 (second), the 2008 (fifth), and the E-3008 (seventh).
In Italy, Stellantis also led the pack. Fiat maintained its top-selling brand title, while the Panda was the most popular vehicle. The Jeep Avenger topped the list as the best-selling SUV. Alfa Romeo’s new Junior model also topped the premium SUV segment.
